  • Proposed Solutions

     The proposed network solution for InnovateTech involves implementing a Star Topology with a centralized Cisco RV340 router, supported by TP-Link switches and Ubiquiti UniFi 6 Lite wireless access points on each floor. High-quality Ethernet Cat 6 cables will ensure fast wired connections, while a Fortinet FortiGate 30E firewall will provide robust security against cyber threats. The network will be monitored using PRTG Network Monitor to detect and address issues proactively. The internet connection will be powered by Maxis Fiber with 1 Gbps bandwidth, ensuring ultra-fast and reliable internet access for demanding tasks such as cloud computing, video conferencing, and large data transfers. This setup is tailored to meet the unique needs of the startup’s three departments—Marketing, Development, and Finance—while ensuring scalability for future growth.


  • Network Benefits
     The proposed network ensures exceptional performance and reliability with the high-speed 1 Gbps connection and a combination of wired and wireless infrastructure. The advanced security measures protect sensitive data, particularly for the Finance department, and allow for secure remote work when necessary. The Ubiquiti UniFi 6 Lite access points deliver seamless wireless connectivity, supporting modern devices that rely on Wi-Fi 6. The setup is also highly scalable, allowing easy integration of new devices or network expansions as the company grows. Additionally, PRTG Network Monitor ensures real-time visibility into network health, minimizing potential downtime and improving overall operational efficiency.  

  • Total Cost
The total cost of the network implementation is approximately RM 29,361.99, which includes:
• RM 19,682.82 for hardware 
(routers, switches, access points, firewall, and cables).
• RM 9,679.10 for an annual subscription to PRTG Network Monitor.

The Maxis Fiber 1 Gbps Internet plan costs RM 299 per month, providing ultra-fast speeds to support high-demand tasks. This investment is well-justified given the level of performance, security, and scalability it delivers to InnovateTech.

  1. Upgrade Equipment: If employee count significantly increases, invest in higher-capacity switches (e.g., 48-port) and enterprise-grade routers like Cisco Catalyst.

  3. Redundant Internet Connection: Add a secondary ISP connection (e.g., TIME or TM Unifi) to ensure uninterrupted internet service during outages.
